Image to table, rows and columns intact.
Last updated: October 2, 2026 · Free online tool and Chrome extension by Gallera Studio
A table that arrives as a picture cannot be edited, sorted or pasted. Image to Text OCR reads the rows and columns out of the image and copies them as a table. Paste into Google Docs, Word, Notion or an email and you get a real table; paste into a spreadsheet and every value lands in its own cell.

Steps
Give it the picture of the table
Drop the image on this page, paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V, or pick a file. With the extension installed, right-click the image on any web page and choose Copy as table.
Check the size
The Table tab shows how many rows and columns were found, for example “Table 8 × 6”, and a preview of every cell.
Copy as table
The clipboard receives the table in two forms at once: a formatted table for documents and email, and tab-separated text for spreadsheets.
Paste where it belongs
Docs, Word, Notion, Gmail and Outlook insert a table. Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers fill cells. A plain text editor gets tab-separated lines.
Good to know
- Tables with borders and tables without them both work. Grid lines are removed before reading, so they do not turn into stray characters, and they are used to tell narrow columns apart.
- A heading above the table and a footnote below it are left out of the table. Copy text still gives you everything.
- A column that is filled in only a few rows stays its own column, and an empty cell stays empty.
- Text wrapped onto two lines inside one cell comes out as two rows; merge them after pasting if needed.
Questions
Does the table need visible borders?
No. Columns are found by the gaps between them. When the table has grid lines they are used as well, which helps when neighbouring columns almost touch.
Can I paste the table into Word or Google Docs?
Yes. Copy as table puts a formatted table on the clipboard, so documents and email clients insert it as a table you can edit.
What about a screenshot of Excel or Google Sheets?
It comes back as just the data. The toolbar, the column letters and the row numbers are recognised as spreadsheet chrome and left out.
Is there a limit?
The tool on this page reads up to three files a day. The Chrome extension has no limit and no account.
Also for Microsoft Edge
No account, no upload, no page limits in the extension. Six permissions and no access to websites.
