Image to Excel, cell by cell.

Last updated: October 2, 2026 · Free online tool and Chrome extension by Gallera Studio

Image to Text OCR reads a table out of a picture, a JPG or PNG file, a screenshot or a PDF, and copies it as cells. It works right on this page and as a Chrome extension. Paste into Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers and every value lands where it belongs; paste into Docs or an email and you get a real table. No retyping, no upload, no account.

Works right here, no install

Drop a picture of a table, get the cells.

Drop the image or a PDF anywhere on this page, paste a screenshot with Ctrl V, or pick a file. Then press Copy as table.

Nothing is uploaded: the engine loads into this page and reads the file on your device.

Steps

  1. Right-click the picture of the table

On the web page, right-click the image and choose Copy as table. For a file on your disk, click the icon and drop it in.

  2. Check the note

The corner note says how many rows and columns were found, for example “Table copied: 5 rows × 5 columns”. If no columns were detected, the text is copied as plain lines instead.

  3. Paste into the spreadsheet

Click the top-left cell and paste. Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers place each value in its own cell; Docs and email clients insert a table.

  4. Fix the odd cell

Numbers read from a clean screenshot are usually exact. Check totals against the picture once; a smudged photo can turn a 3 into an 8.

Questions

Does it work with Google Sheets?

Yes. Copy as table puts tab-separated text on the clipboard, which Sheets, Excel and Numbers paste as cells. It also puts an HTML table on the clipboard for Docs and email.

Can it read a photo of a printed price list?

A straight, well-lit photo usually reads well. Strong angles, shadows or curved pages lower the accuracy; check the numbers.

Is there a limit on rows or pages?

The extension has no limits and no account. The tool on this page reads up to three files a day. Very large images are scaled down to 2600 pixels on the long side before recognition.
