Convert a bank statement to Excel in three steps.

Last updated: October 5, 2026 · Free online tool by Gallera Studio

Converting a statement by hand means retyping dates and amounts and hoping nothing slipped. The tool on this page reads the PDF, finds the transaction table and checks the arithmetic against the balance. Three steps, no account, and the statement stays on your computer.

Works right here, nothing is uploaded

Drop a PDF statement here, get a table.

Drop a bank statement PDF anywhere on this page, or pick a file. A screenshot of a statement works too, through OCR.

The statement never leaves your computer: the engine loads into this page and reads the file here. The totals are checked against the balance before you copy anything.

Steps

  1. Drop the PDF

Drag the statement onto this page or click Choose a file. The engine loads once and reads the file on your device.

  2. Read the check line

Above the table the page says whether the totals add up: either every step of the balance column matches a transaction, or the opening balance plus all transactions equals the closing balance. A green line means the table is complete.

  3. Copy as table or download CSV

Copy as table puts the rows on the clipboard as cells; Download CSV saves a file. Both keep the column headers from the statement.

  4. Paste into the spreadsheet

Click the top-left cell in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers and paste. Each date, description and amount lands in its own cell.

How the check works

A bank statement carries its own proof. When there is a balance column, the difference between two consecutive balances must equal the transaction between them; the page checks every step. When there is no balance column, it looks for the opening and closing balance in the statement and checks that opening plus all transactions equals closing. Either way the result is one line above the table: totals check out, or they do not, and by how much.

This is the reason the tool exists in this form. A table with one row missing looks exactly like a complete one, and finding the gap later costs more than the conversion saved.

Questions

Is my bank statement uploaded anywhere?

No. The engine loads into this page and reads the file on your computer. The only network requests are for the engine files themselves. There is no server, no account and no analytics on this site.

Which banks and formats work?

Any PDF statement with a text layer, which is what banks let you download, where transactions sit in a table with a header row or start each line with a date. The layer was tested on real and synthetic statements from six countries, with headers in English, German, French, Dutch, Indonesian and Russian. Credit card statements with a previous and new balance reconcile too.

What if the totals do not add up?

The page says so and shows by how much. The usual causes are a transaction split across two lines, a page without a header, or a statement with no balance figures at all. Check the rows around the gap before you rely on the table; nothing is silently fixed.

Can I get an XLSX file?

Copy as table pastes straight into Excel as cells, and the CSV opens in Excel with one double-click. A native XLSX download is not offered in this version.

My statement is a scan. Does it work?

A scanned PDF has no text layer. Take a screenshot of the page and drop it here: it goes through OCR, and the totals check tells you whether the numbers were read correctly. Treat an unverified scan as a draft.

Is there a limit?

The tool on this page reads up to three files a day. Very long statements are read in full; pages are processed in order and the columns are kept across pages.
